Hi again!

I am Apoorv Anurag

I'm a UX & Visual Designer with a passion for creating amazing user experiences. I belong from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh.

I'm currently working at Optum, a division of United Health Group, as a UX Designer. With a Master's in Design from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay, and a background in Civil Engineering from IET Lucknow, I bring a unique blend of skills of analytical thought process and innovative Design.

What really gets me going in UX Design is the chance to dive deep into users' experiences and create solutions that truly resonate with them. I love collaborating with teams from all different disciplines to come up with innovative solutions.

I'm a big fan of illustrating too and love incorporating it into my work whenever possible. I'm skilled at using different design tools, and I'm always looking for ways to improve my craft.

In my free time, I'm always on the hunt for new certifications. I'm currently excited about incorporating AI and service design principles into my projects.

P.s. I'm a bit of an introvert, so I prefer written communication over phone calls, but my designs, like my comic character Kaju, are full of personality and reflect my unsaid thoughts.

Experience:

1. UX Designer at Optum, United Health Group, From Sept 2023:

I have been working here at Optum, Hyderabad office. Here I have been part of projects that involve designing data-intensive applications for different users in the healthcare domain.

2. UX Internship at Honeywell, May-Jun 2022:

I did my summer internship at Honeywell's Bengaluru campus. I was given three mini-projects during my tenure, which were connected to enhancing Operations Management in Industrial Plants.

2. Teaching Assistantship at IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay:

Under Prof. B.K. Chakraborty & Prof. Raja Mohanty, From Oct 2022-May 2023. I was a TA in the HASMED course, "Introduction to Design," at IIT B. I was responsible for assisting professors while teaching the B.Tech. First-year students about the basics of design. I also personally mentored these students almost every week.

Under Prof. Girish Dalvi, Aug 2021-Sep 2022. I was responsible for course material preparation that would assist in teaching junior M.Des. batches.

Achievements

1. Exhibitor at Laval Virtual Exhibit'23, France, April 2023. Presented the project FINA: Hand Gesture Interactions for File Management in VR in the student category. Among the Top 15 students from all over the world were called to showcase their work. Qualified to final six nominees in the Best Student Project Category.

2. Top 15 Team at Darkathon 2022, All India Hackathon, July 2022. We submitted our project NarcoTrac in this Hackathon organized by the Narcotics Control Bureau & Cyber Peace Foundation, inviting effective solutions for disrupting drug-selling markets on Darknet.

3. 1st Runner-Up Team in Founder's Pitch, PAN IIT Level, June 2022. This was an Entrepreneurship Pitch Proposing Competition organized by the Student Alumni Relations Cell (SARC), IIT B. We created business pitch decks for two fictitious startups while designing unique service solutions. Check out one of them here: Edufy.

4. All India Rank 4 in CEED 2021 on my first attempt

5. 2nd Runner-Up Team in Student Paper Writing Competition, June 2020. Ultratech Cement Ltd. and Indian Concrete Institute organized it. Our topic was "Post Covid'19: Concrete Construction".

My Interests

I love painting, sketching, and exploring nature. I like knowing about my capabilities by participating in various activities like sculpting, yoga and volunteering at various fronts.
